ABOUT HEXUAN YIN

Hexuan Yin is a fashion design student at Parsons School of Design whose work is driven by a deep curiosity for the unknown and a fearless pursuit of bold expression. To Hexuan, beauty exists in the delicate balance between freedom and order—a philosophy that guides every step of her creative process.

 

Having lived and studied across diverse regions from a young age, Hexuan has developed a rich appreciation for cultural fusion and contrast. Her designs reflect this global perspective, blending varied fashion influences to craft a new and evolving visual language. She is particularly drawn to asymmetrical silhouettes, raw and unrefined materials, and the subtle imprints that time leaves behind—elements that give her work both immediacy and depth.

 

Inspired by deconstructivist pioneers like Martin Margiela and Rei Kawakubo, Hexuan explores the fluid boundary between the garment and the human form. Her creations often reside in the space where structure meets spontaneity, where restraint meets emotional tension.

 

For Hexuan, design is more than a craft—it is a fleeting moment outside of order, a chance to transform intangible thoughts or emotions into physical form, stitch by stitch. Her process is meticulous yet instinctual, rational yet intuitive. She believes the world is not made up of fixed answers but of contradictions waiting to be explored.
